The reorganization of the Swiss business at Credit Suisse won't stop at the executive board. Credit Suisse Switzerland introduces a new unit for digital banking.

The reorganization at Credit Suisse announced on Tuesday is will also affect the top management of the Swiss universal bank, where the «Direct Banking» and «Digitalization & Products» are being merged as of October 1, 2020.

Anke Bridge Haux, the head of «Digitalization & Products», will take the lead of the new unit, which will be named «Digital Banking».

Direct Bank Remains at the Group

The «Direct Banking», which had launched a new digital offering in October 2019, was under the guidance of Mario Crameri, the erstwhile head of IT at the universal bank. His unit won’t now become an independent direct bank alongside the group, but remain part and parcel of the company’s structure.

Crameri will be subordinate to Bridge Haux, who managed to further expand her influence over the Swiss banking business of Credit Suisse. The former product expert was promoted to the executive board of Credit Suisse Switzerland two years ago and reported directly to the then head of division and today’s CEO, Thomas Gottstein.

New Head of Institutional Clients

«Institutional Clients», the unit that caters to pension funds, independent wealth managers, banks and other financial intermediaries, will be put under lead of Daniel Hunziker. He is the current head of strategy at Credit Suisse Switzerland and takes over from Michael Sager, who had been in charge ad interim since André Helfenstein had assumed the CEO job from Gottstein.
