Credit Suisse has rehired a former adviser and put him in charge of the strategic development of the Swiss banking business.

Martin Mende will take charge of the strategy and initiatives unit at Credit Suisse (CS) in Switzerland on October 1, 2020, according to a statement released by Credit Suisse on Tuesday. As such, he will also take a seat on the executive committee of the Swiss Universal Bank (SUB) and the country organization.

Mende, 53, replaces Daniel Hunziker, who will assume responsibility for the business with big institutional clients. Hunziker’s move came in connection with the major reorganization of the Swiss business, when the country’s second-largest bank announced the integration of Neue Aargauer Bank (NAB) and the cut of 500 jobs.
