Vontobel Asset Management opens an office in Singapore to expand its reach in Asia and further accelerate growth.

The new office will be accompanied by the hire of Benny Gay as Asia head of intermediary clients and Jeremy Tan as a relationship manager for the region’s intermediary client segment, according to a statement.

Gay has over 12 years of relationship management experience and joins from German asset manager DWS where he was its head of private banks and intermediaries. Previously, he was also a client adviser at Citibank in Singapore focusing on high net worth clients. Tan was also most recently with DWS.

Distribution Growth

According to APAC Chief Executive Ulrich Behm, Vontobel Asst Management has continued to gain additional distribution partners in the region where it established in 2008 and now houses a Hong Kong and Sydney office in addition to the third location.

«The opening of our office in Singapore will enable us to further strengthen our activities related to global and regional banks, and institutional investors in Asia Pacific,» Behm said. «We continue to see strong demand from our core client group of global banks in Asia for our higher yielding income products, as well as emerging markets and Asian equities.»
