Basel's cantonal bank is poaching its new head of wealth management from Credit Suisse, finews.com has learned.

The Basel-based bank is hiring Liliane Daester as its head of private banking, effective July 1, according to a memo seen by finews.com on Wednesday. She replaces previous head Christoph Eberle, who took over its key clients and family office activities last September.

Daester is currently market head for staff clients at Credit Suisse, where she oversees teams in Basel and Zurich. A nine-year veteran of the Swiss bank, Daester is the second prominent female banker to leave Credit Suisse for a cantonal lender in recent months.
