Zurich Cantonal Bank boss Martin Scholl is making way for the next generation, but in his own time.

Martin Scholl has decided to step down as CEO of the ZKB, the bank said in a press release on Tuesday.

However, the announcement comes over a year before his planned departure on August 31, 2022. The bank said this would optimize careful succession planning.

Scholl has worked for ZKB for over 40 years and became CEO in 2007, making him one of the longest-serving heads of a Swiss bank. «The bank is in an excellent condition in every respect, making it the perfect moment to hand over the reins to the next generation,» Scholl said.
