The head of UBS Switzerland, Sabine Keller-Busse, is making major personnel changes in the regions.

There will be changes in top positions in all five of UBS’ Swiss regions, according to a memorandum from the head of UBS Switzerland, Sabine Keller-Busse, seen by finews.com and first reported by Swiss banking blog «Inside Paradeplatz».

Keller-Busse took over as head of the division in February. UBS confirmed on Thursday that the following changes will take effect August 1, with the exception of Eastern Switzerland where they will take effect from August 15.

Western Switzerland

• Current regional director Cyril Meury will take a career break. Patrick Bourloud will become the new regional director in addition to his role as head of the regional wealth management business. 

Valais

Iwan Willisch will take on the retail banking business in addition to corporate banking and will remain regional director.

Zurich

• Adriaan Koppejan will move into a new role and will hand over the leadership of the retail banking business to Christa Emminger. Over the last three and a half years she has been expanding the retail banking business in the Aargau/Solothurn region. Her successor there has not yet been appointed.

Aargau/Solothurn

• Thomas Sommerhalder will take on the leadership of the wealth management business in the region from Martin Ammeter, who had been acting head over the past few weeks. This is in addition to Sommerhalder’s roles as regional director and head of corporate and institutional clients within the regional wealth management business.

Eastern Switzerland

Gian-Reto Staub will replace Hanspeter Thuer as regional director. Thuer will take on a new role within UBS, and Staub will remain head of wealth management.
