The Liechtenstein bank is nabbing a UBS top executive to head its compliance department, finews.com has learned.

Vaduz-based LGT is hiring Felix Kaestner to head its compliance operations, a source familiar told finews.com on Friday. A spokeswoman for LGT confirmed his hire, effective January 1.

Kaestner, who has been with UBS for 14 years, fills the gap left by Johannes Pfister, who stepped down five months into the role at LGT last October. A German lawyer, Kaestner is currently in charge of compliance at UBS' European bank in Frankfurt.
