The reinsurer is tasking an Indian information technology company with the operation of its digital workstations.

Swiss Re is extending its partnership with consultancy firm Tata Consulting Services (TCS) to manage its digital workstations, as trade publisher «Netzwoche» (in German) reported. The multinational information technology services provider TCS will manage the reinsurer’s desktops and run these on Microsoft’s cloud computing service Azure.

The roll out will involve more than 18,000 end users, according to TCS’s online statement. Further details of the deal were not announced.

«Together with TCS and Microsoft, we want to empower our employees with a seamless and secure digital workplace experience,» Swiss Re’s Chief Technology Officer Youngran Kim said in the statement. A specialist in cloud transformation and insurance-related process engineering and mining, she joined Swiss Re in April last year.
