The Swiss bank is hiring a veteran banker from a competitor to lead its Israeli business.

Credit Suisse is appointing Joseph Wolf (pictured below) as chief executive of Credit Suisse financial services Israel as from April 4, the bank said in a statement Monday.

Wolf will join the Swiss bank from Barclays in New York where he was the deputy director of U.S. equity research. He will replace Hila Goldenberg who stepped into the role less than two years ago.

In his 27 years working in banking, Wolf has developed a strong tech sector focus, which is relevant for his new role in a country which counts as one of world’s leading technology hubs, the statement says
