With «embedded finance,» financial services are seeping into our everyday habits. As this happens, banks need to be smarter about engaging with clients, according to Sven Siat, who heads SIX's bLink platform.

From retail investors making micro-investments to real estate brokers using technology to connect buyers and sellers, there are many examples where financial services are being embedded into areas where they haven't previously existed.

SIX's bLink platform for standardized interfaces is available to financial institutions as well as software and service providers. It allows platform participants to exchange financial data with each other in order to offer their customers additional financial services.

Sven Siat told finews.tv where Switzerland stands with its regulation around financial institutions opening their banking systems to exchange data with third parties, and how the institutions themselves are adapting to this new way of doing business.
