Google Cloud services have appointed a new leader for its business in Switzerland and Austria, who also brings experience from Julius Baer.

Roi Tavor is taking over as managing director of Switzerland and Austria at Google Cloud. He joined Google in 2021 and was previously Head of Financial Services at Google Cloud in Zurich, according to a report in «Netzwoche» (in German).

Tavor (pictured below) will lead the teams in the two countries from headquarters in Zurich, where Google's employees are referred to as «Zooglers.» He is responsible for driving the growth of Google's cloud business in the region, the company said. Tavor succeeds Christian Martin, who had held the role since late 2020.

According to Tavor's LinkedIn profile, he was previously head of financial services for Google and was also based in Zurich. He brings over 15 years of experience to the role as both an entrepreneur and a senior executive. Before joining Google, Tavor worked for Bank Julius Baer for 10 years, including as a managing director and member of the management advisory board.
