The international law firm Baker McKenzie is appointing over 100 partners globally. One of the Swiss partners is moving to Geneva from Kyiv.

Baker McKenzie is appointing Olha DemianiukMarkus Wolf  and Julia Schieber as partners, it said in an emailed statement Monday.

Demianiuk, who will become partner for M&A and healthcare & life sciences and has been with the firm for 17 years, is joining the Geneva office from Kyiv.

As a partner in banking & finance and re-structuring & insolvency, Wolf (picture above) will be a person of contact for financial companies. 

Schieber (picture below), who has been ranked as a «rising star» for life sciences in Switzerland by trade publishers «The Legal 500,» will be responsible for intellectual property and technology in the Zurich office.

Worldwide, Baker McKenzie appointed 116 new partners over the last year. Among the appointments 37 percent were female, bringing the firm closer to its 40:40:20 gender diversity targets (40percent women, 40 percent men and 20percent flexible, i.e., women, men or non-binary persons), it said.
