While Switzerland's troubled bank is bleeding staff left and right, one area of the bank has managed to attract new talent.

Credit Suisse Asset Management is appointing Damian Burkhardt as head of Swiss equities, effective January 1, the bank said in an emailed statement Thursday.

Burkhardt will manage a team of equity portfolio managers and analysts, carrying out research on the Swiss equity market. He will report to Christoph Bieri, who is responsible for the entire Swiss Equities team overseeing assets of approximately 7 billion Swiss francs, according to the statement.

Burkhardt joins from Lombard Odier Investment Managers, where he worked as a senior portfolio manager for Swiss, European, and thematic equities.  Prior to this, he worked for BlackRock Private Equity Partners.
