The Swiss National Bank promotes three long-serving staff members to directorships to start the new year.

The expanded governing board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) promoted three staff members to the position of director, effective January 1, the central bank said in a statement Wednesday.

These appointees are the head of asset management Roman Baumann, the head of international monetary cooperation Nicolas Stoffels, and the head of money market and foreign exchange trading Benjamin Anderegg.

Some have been with the SNB for decades, according to their Linkedin profiles. Baumann, for example, has been with the SNB for nearly 20 years, several of which he spent in the Singapore office.

Stoffels took over as head of international monetary cooperation in November, according to the statement. Previously, he was responsible for financial market analysis and has more than 16 years of service as the SNB.

Anderegg is a relative newcomer, having joined the SNB in 2017, and having previously worked in foreign exchange trading at UBS for around 15 years.
