Sparkasse Schwyz appoints new member of executive management

The board of directors of Sparkasse Schwyz has appointed Patrik Rickenbacher as head of the private and business banking segment, effective January 1, 2027. The 45-year-old will simultaneously become a member of executive management, the regional bank said on Tuesday.

Rickenbacher has many years of management and banking experience in private and business banking. He previously worked, among others, for Zuger Kantonalbank, Schwyzer Kantonalbank, and Credit Suisse.

His qualifications include a Master in Business with AI, training as a Certified Crypto Finance Expert, and a degree as a financial planner with a federal diploma.

The new executive management representative grew up in Muotathal and lives with his family in Steinen, where he has also served as a member of the municipal council since 2018.

Predecessor to remain with the bank

His predecessor Corinna Strickler will step down from executive management at the end of 2026 after 24 years at Sparkasse. However, she will remain with the institution in a 50 percent role.

In her new function, she will continue to advise clients as a credit advisor and will support Rickenbacher and the client advisory team during the transition.

Founded in 1812, Sparkasse Schwyz employs around 72 full-time staff and reports total assets of 2.4 billion Swiss francs. The municipality of Schwyz is the regional bank's majority shareholder.
