UBP and Taishin Bank Form Private Banking Alliance in Taiwan

The agreement, signed in Taipei on Oct. 23, 2026, makes UBP Taishin Bank’s exclusive global strategic partner for private banking. UBP will provide global market insights, investment expertise and wealth management capabilities to enhance the Taiwanese bank’s services for domestic and offshore clients it says in a statement.

The partnership will focus on developing investment solutions, expanding Taishin’s wealth management platform and strengthening expertise through joint training. UBP’s investment insights will also support Taishin’s advisory and asset allocation capabilities.

Combining Know-How with Presence

“We are pleased to support Taishin Bank as its strategic global private banking partner, combining our know-how as a leading Swiss pure-play private bank with Taishin’s long-standing domestic presence and expertise,” said Michael Blake, head of wealth management and CEO Asia at UBP.

Sam Lin, CEO of private banking and the Strategic Wealth Clients Group at Taishin Bank, said the partnership would strengthen international investment services, asset allocation and family succession advisory for wealthy clients.

The collaboration will combine UBP’s global investment expertise with Taishin’s domestic presence and aims to support the Taiwanese bank’s expansion of its private banking network across Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

UBP, one of Switzerland’s largest family-owned private banks, manages CHF 193.5 billion in assets and holds an Aa2 long-term deposit rating from Moody’s, according to the announcement.
