Zurich investment boutique brings in UBS analyst

The Zurich investment boutique Arvy is entering into a partnership with Global Macro Cycle Partners (GMCP). The company founded by Michael Riesner will in future produce analyses of macroeconomic developments and market cycles together with Arvy's investment team, the company said on Monday.

The collaboration will add a stronger macroeconomic perspective to Arvy's previous analysis of individual companies and sectors.

A new analysis is set to be published weekly under the name "arvy Macro Cycles". The focus will be on equity markets, interest rates, currencies and commodities, as well as the impact of central bank decisions, economic data and geopolitical developments. This will be supplemented by assessments of long-term trends and possible turning points in financial markets. The new publications are to be distributed via Substack and the X platform.

Former UBS chief analyst

With Riesner, Arvy is gaining a well-known name in the Swiss financial industry. The market strategist spent more than 20 years in investment banking and led technical equity analysis at UBS Investment Bank in Switzerland for 15 years.

From 2010 to 2018, Riesner was voted Europe's leading technical analyst for nine consecutive years in the Extel Pan-European Survey.

Since 2018, his firm GMCP has, according to its own figures, served more than 200 institutional clients across six continents. These include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds and family offices. Riesner was also a voting member of the investment committees of the pension funds of UBS and Credit Suisse for several years.

Private banker joins the board of directors

At the same time, arvy has strengthened its board of directors with Marco Studer. He has been a member of the body since October 15, 2026, and brings more than 15 years of experience in Swiss private banking and wealth management. Studer has been CEO of the Rotkreuz-based Swiss Reserve since December 2025. Before that, he worked there as deputy CEO and head of sales, among other roles.

Before moving to Swiss Reserve, he advised wealthy entrepreneurial families, ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Zurich. Other stops in his career include Credit Suisse and UBS, where he began his career.

Investment platform with more than 2,000 stocks

arvy is a Zurich-based investment boutique and research platform. The company is led in the investment area by co-founder and chief investment officer Thierry Borgeat.

In addition to market analyses, the platform offers a model portfolio as well as screening tools for more than 2,000 stocks and 600 exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
