Deutsche Börse launches 24/7 trading for DAX 40 stocks

Deutsche Börse starts offering 24/7 trading coverage for DAX 40 stocks today, as stated in a statement. The offering is being implemented with the 360X trading platform, in which the exchange operator holds a stake.

The company handles order executions outside regular exchange hours through its regulated MTF segment (multilateral trading facility).

Together, this model enables clients to trade DAX 40 stocks in euros even outside regular exchange hours, the statement said. This is an important step toward a European market infrastructure available around the clock.

"Deutsche Börse Group aims to be the first European financial market infrastructure to enable a 24/7 offering for traditional blue-chip stocks," said Eric Leupold, head of cash market at Deutsche Börse Group.

Xetra continues to provide liquidity during core European trading hours. Regular trading runs from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:30, and the extended retail service from 08:00 to 22:00.

The dual offering provides that standard DAX 40 instruments are traded exclusively via 360X's RfQ module. Xetra's core processes remain unaffected. The regular auction cycles will be maintained. In addition, closing prices on 360X outside trading hours will have no impact on opening prices or opening auctions on Xetra, the statement added.
