Julius Baer launches share buyback program next week

The Julius Baer Group will launch the previously announced new share buyback program with a total value of up to 600 million Swiss francs on Monday, November 2, 2026, according to a statement released on Friday. Subject to prevailing market conditions, it is expected to be completed within one year.

The shares will be purchased via a second trading line on the SIX Swiss Exchange (ticker: BAERE SW). The expenses for the share buyback will be charged to common equity tier 1 capital (CET1 capital) over the term of the program, it added.

The board of directors intends to use the capital band approved at the annual general meeting on April 9, 2026, to cancel the shares repurchased under this program.

At the end of September, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority Finma concluded the consolidated enforcement proceedings involving the bank's private debt transactions with René Benko and Russian PEP clients. Serious violations were found and tough measures were ordered.

The conclusion of the proceedings enabled Julius Baer to apply to Finma for a new share buyback program.
