A New Approach to Capturing Opportunities Across Europe
Why Is It Worth Taking a Fresh Look at European Equities?
New drivers of value creation are opening up a broad range of investment opportunities in Europe. Shifts in value chains, industrial priorities, and economic dynamics are likely to give rise to new winners across sectors, business models and investment styles. This calls for a balanced approach to stock picking that goes beyond the traditional growth and value categories.
Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe seeks to capitalise on these shifts by identifying companies with the potential to generate above-market earnings growth over the long term. These may include established businesses, emerging leaders and companies undergoing transformation whose potential remains underestimated.
The strategy applies a disciplined and methodical approach to identifying companies with strong and increasing cash flow, with the aim of building a portfolio that can adapt as new opportunities emerge across European equity markets.
An Investment Approach Built Around Three Pillars
The strategy takes a broad approach to European equities. Looking beyond traditional investment styles and sectors, it seeks opportunities across companies with different business models and market capitalisations. The portfolio is concentrated and consists mainly, but not exclusively, of large-cap companies selected through in-depth fundamental analysis. The investment process is built around three complementary pillars:
Identifying tomorrow’s leaders: Target companies poised to shape the coming decade, supported by strong competitive positioning and shifts in the value chain. Turning transformation into a growth driver: Identify companies whose strategic decisions have the potential to drive earnings growth. Seeking companies with strong and increasing cash flow: Focus on companies demonstrating strong and increasing cash flow.
Strengthening Our European Equity Expertise
Before joining Carmignac, Frederic Jeanmaire managed a pan-European equity strategy for nearly 12 years. Under his management, the strategy ranked in the top decile of its category for its 1-year, 3-year, 5-year and 10-year returns1, as well as over his full tenure. It also regularly received a 5-star Morningstar rating. Frederic Jeanmaire’s experience in identifying tomorrow’s leaders and navigating structural market shifts underpins the investment philosophy of Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe.
His approach combines a focus on quality and value creation with disciplined valuation, complementing Carmignac’s existing expertise in European markets.
With Carmignac Portfolio Invest Europe, we are expanding our range of pan-European equity strategies with an approach designed to identify new drivers of value creation across a broad investment universe while retaining the flexibility to adapt as markets evolve.
