The private-banking market in the U.K. remains an important target for Lombard Odier. The Geneva-based bank has now decided to expand its offering and has appointed a manager to lead the move.

Lombard Odier, the Geneva-based private bank, will offer its products and services to independent asset managers as of next year, the company said in a statement today.

The bank has appointed Michael Le Garignon as head of independent asset managers U.K. Le Garignon currently works for Société Générale, where he is in charge of business development, sales and relationship management in the U.K. and Ireland.

U.K. Expansion

Lombard Odier's independent asset manager's division has 18 billion euros in assets under custody. The unit also provides portfolio management services to family offices and wealth managers as well as middle- and back-office services.

The bank in October announced the recruitment of six bankers for its London branch. One of those was a new chief operating officer.
