The total sum of assets managed by Swiss funds has broken through a symbolic threshold in July. The inflow of net new money accelerated over the course of the summer months.

The total assets managed by Swiss funds reached a trillion francs for the first time in July 2017 – or a total of 1,013 billion, according to the Swiss Funds & Asset Management Association SFAMA.

The total increased by more than 30 billion francs from a month earlier, thanks to the positive development on the financial markets, said Markus Fuchs, CEO of SFAMA.

Acceleration of Net New Money Inflow

Fuchs said the development of net new money was very positive as well, with a total of 7.5 billion francs in July, double the amount of June. Most new money was put into bond funds, with a total of 3.5 billion francs, followed by equity funds (1.8 billion).
