Lombard Odier teams up with Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) to create a sustainability fund for the Cantonal Bank.

The first product stemming from a collaboration that began last year between Geneva-based private bank Lombard Odier and Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) is being launched. A fund comprising securities from 50 companies promoting the transition to an environmentally sustainable and climate-neutral economy, will be released on July 6,  according to a statement on Tuesday.

Lombard Odier has worked with Oxford University to develop methodologies to test sustainable investments and optimize global investment strategies scientifically. The 50 companies were selected from a universe of 9,200 stocks. Sustainability is nothing new for BLKB, which sees itself as a pioneer in this field, having already converted all of its investment products to a sustainability profile in 2014.

Think Global, Act Local

The product collaboration is being billed as a combination of the locally-oriented BLKB with the globally-oriented Lombard Odier which creates a financial product that is tailored to the needs of BLKB clients, the statement said.
