A former Julius Baer banker is joining an external consultancy firm at Bank Rothschild & Co to expand its pensions business.

Zurich-based bank Rothschild & Co is expanding its offering in the Swiss pensions sector, according to a statement from Monday.

Thomas Bamert will be head of wealth and pension planning in Switzerland from the beginning of February and will be responsible for implementing the new partnership with Pensexpert. Rothschild & Co will primarily contribute its expertise in the investment area and wealth planning.

Pension Solutions

Most recently, Bamert worked at Bank Julius Baer as a wealth planning advisor, where he built and developed pension services. Before that, he held various positions at Swiss Life.

Pensexpert offers individual pension solutions tailored to all phases of life following private banking guidelines and works together with an exclusive group of partner banks, which now includes Rothschild & Co.

Sustainable Growth

«The Swiss pension market has been showing sustained growth for years. Thanks to the partnership with PensExpert, we can provide our clients with more comprehensive advice and position ourselves even better in this growth area. Our investment approach, which is based on a long-term perspective, is an excellent fit with the pension needs of high net worth individuals,» said Andreas Feller, head of Swiss onshore Zurich at Rothschild & Co.
