Geneva-based asset manager New Oak is bringing a veteran with Middle East experience onto its advisory board who held key positions at Arab Bank and UBS.

Jean Kamitsis is joining the advisory board of New Oak, the Geneva-based multi-family office announced on Tuesday. Kamitsis worked steadily in private banking from 1986 until he retired from Arab Bank's Swiss branch at the end of 2022. He looks back on an international career that took him as far as Hong Kong in the service of UBS as early as 1997.

Serving Greece and Turkey

After returning to Switzerland, he managed the global desk for wealthy clients from Greece and Turkey, eventually taking on a senior relationship management role for the Saudi market. In 2010, he moved to Arab Bank Switzerland as head of Private Banking. As of 2015, he was still active there in client contact and mentor.

With Kamitsis, New Oak gains another Middle East specialist after the firm hired Fadi Halout, the ex-head of Lebanese-controlled Bankmed Suisse, as an advisor last April. The asset manager was founded in 2020 by several Middle Eastern and Swiss families and holds a license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma).
