Swisscard AECS, a credit card company owned by Credit Suisse and American Express is getting a new Chief Growth officer.

Armin Czapla joins Swisscard AECS, a credit card subsidiary of Credit Suisse effective August 1, as chief growth officer and becomes a member of the executive board, according to a statement from Swisscard Wednesday.

He becomes responsible for new sales channels, developing new products, internationalization, and digital transformation. He comes from Lufthansa's Miles & More frequent flier program of which Swiss is a member airline. 

In 2019, he joined the German carrier's mileage unit as director of Partner Sales and Ambient and also served on the management board. Previously, he worked at Miles & More from 2013 to 2018, among other things as Head of International Cards & Financial Solutions.

An Interesting Move

The move comes at a turbulent time for Credit Suisse, with much up in the air since its acquisition by UBS in March. Swisscard is a Swiss credit card company owned by the bank and American Express and offers an arrant of credit card products in the country.

Swiss Card manages over 1.5 million credit cards and has about 600 employees in the town of Horgen, near Zurich.
