The Royal Bank of Canada hired an oil and gas investment banking specialist from Credit Suisse. He also becomes vice chairman.

Investment banker Tim Perry joins the Royal Bank of Canada from Credit Suisse, where he headed the Houston office, according to a «Bloomberg» (behind paywall) story citing anonymous sources. He also becomes RBC Capital Markets vice chairman, according to the story. 

Perry was effectively named the global co-head of oil and gas investment banking in 2017, stepping up from the role of co-head of Credit Suisse's Oil and Gas Group for the Americas, partnering with Osmar Abib, who led the group since 2011. Perry joined Credit Suisse in 1999 and led the bank's Exploration and Production (E&P) franchise.

Throughout the course of his career in investment banking, Perry provided capital raising and strategic advice to numerous leading private and public companies in the Oil and Gas sector, according to a previous Credit Suisse press release.

He previously worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), where he advised on transactions such as the sale of Concho Resources to ConocoPhillips and the sale of Parsley Energy to Pioneer Natural Resources. DLJ was acquired by Credit Suisse in 2000.
