A long-serving member of the Swiss National Bank's top management is stepping down.

Dewet Moser, deputy member of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), is stepping down. He's exercising his early retirement option as of the end of March next year, according to a media release Friday.

Moser has been with the SNB since 1986, and has held several important functions over his 38 years of service, the central bank said.

Various Management Positions

Among other things, he was entrusted with setting up the SNB's risk management in 1997, which he headed for about a decade. Moser was a deputy member of the Governing Board since May 2007 where he was operational manager of Department III for more than ten years, responsible for money markets, foreign exchange, asset management, and the Singapore branch, among other duties.

In September 2018, Moser moved to Department II as deputy head, responsible for the operational resilience of the financial sector and financial stability.

His role as an alternate member of the governing board, he was involved in advising the governing board on its decisions.
