The Brazilian-Swiss private bank is expanding its presence in neighboring Germany. A former top executive from Credit Suisse is to head the new Berlin branch.

Private bank J. Safra Sarasin has opened its sixth German branch in Berlin, as reported Monday by the German finance magazine «private banking» (article in German).

The new branch will be headed by Uwe Arndt, with the assistance of Matthias Lollert and Christian Wolter.

Previously, Arndt worked as executive manager for Credit Suisse, also in Germany. As head of the new branch he will promote the development of the Berlin location in looking after high net worth clients and business clients, the magazine reported.

In addition to the new Berlin branch, the Swiss private bank has outlets in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Hanover.
