Lombard Odier has named a new head of third-party distribution for Europe. The new recruit has decades of experience in UBS Asset Management and is one of the best-known faces in the Swiss fund scene.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers have appointed Martin Thommen as head of third-party distribution for Europe. He will be based in Zurich and report to Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of distribution and solutions, Lombard Odier announced Tuesday.

The Swiss banker has a long track record with UBS Asset Management where he was head of Wealth Management and Personal Banking in Switzerland. In his 30 years at UBS, Thommen held numerous different management positions, including the third-party distribution for UBS' asset management division. In this role, he was «the face of UBS» in the Swiss funds business.

Until recently, Thommen was on the board of the Swiss Funds & Asset Management Association SFAMA, which he presided from 2009 to 2014.
