U.S. bank Citigroup has appointed a veteran UBS banker to a new position created at its London branch, where he will liaise with the booming fintech industry.

Jean-Baptiste Petard has worked for Switzerland’s largest bank for almost 19 years. Working at the investment bank in London, he was in charge of the Business Service Group for the Emea region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Now, he has taken the decision to move to Citigroup, the «Financial Times» reported (behind paywall). The U.S. bank appointed Petard as co-head of Global Services based in London. He will focus on business and payment services and liaise with the fintech industry.

Citigroup Appointments

Petard is the latest in a series of appointments at the industry team of Citigroup. The bank also hired Heiko Horn, another former UBS investment banker. He is now in charge of the Citigroup branch in Zurich and manages the industrial goods segment in the Emea region.
