Luzerner Kantonalbank has appointed a new head of asset management. The banker has previously held top jobs at GAM and Julius Baer.

Stefan Angele will take charge of asset management at Luzerner Kantonalbank (LUKB) on January 15, 2018, the company said in a statement today. The asset management division has a staff of about 20.

Angele, 50, joins from Excinam, where he was one of the partners for the past three years. Excinam is a wealth management service provider. The economist previously was in charge of investment management at GAM, leaving in 2013 after four years.

Angele also worked for Julius Baer (2006 through 2009), and was in charge of asset allocation and fixed income as well multi asset class solutions. The banker previously worked for Zuercher Kantonalbank and Credit Suisse.

Theiler 500

He replaces Klaus Theiler (pictured above), who retires in February after 35 years at the company’s service. The bank had announced his impending departure in August 2017.

Starting in 1982, Theiler was active in various positions, for instance as head of asset management and chairman of the «LUKB Expert Fondsleitung».
