A long-serving Société Générale banker has been named to oversee the French firm's portfolio of Swiss financial institutions and companies. He will be based in Zurich.

Société Générale’s corporate & investment banking has appointed Thierry Bastos (pictured above) as senior banker, it said Wednesday. In addition to his new duties, Bastos will head the French bank’s financial institutions group in Switzerland.

Bastos will report to Jose Enrique Concejo, global head of financial institutions group, and Hugues de La Marnierre, Societe Generale’s Swiss country head. The ten-year SocGen veteran has worked as head of equity capital markets and capital structure for the financial institutions group since 2016.

Prior to that, he was deputy global head of strategic and acquisition finance in the same group, which targets banks, insurers, fund managers, pension funds and the government with deal financing, equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions advice.
