Traditional real estate agents in French-speaking Switzerland are already feeling the pressure from the property startup Naho, which is expanding into the German-language regions, including Zurich.

The Lausanne-based real estate startup Neho was launched just under a year ago, competing in the western Swiss market with low-priced service offerings. Now Neho is also active in the German speaking regions’ market, it said Tuesday.

Neho, which began as a startup at Lausanne's technical university EPFL, offers property transaction services at a fixed price of 7,500 Swiss francs ($7,625), regardless of the size or location of the property. Traditional estate agents charge 3 percent of the sales price.

Neho combines digital processes with traditional elements: help in every transaction phase, supported by an online platform. Neho however isn’t the only player, trying to lever the advantages of digital discount pricing. Other operators in the market are Simplehouse, which operates in Schaffhausen, and Myhausverkauf, based in eastern Switzerland.
