EFG International has appointed a new head of Luxembourg, a banker with experience in the focus market of the Zurich-based bank.

Lena Lascari will take the reigns as CEO of EFG Bank (Luxembourg) starting in 2019, the bank said in a statement on Thursday. She replaces Konstantinos Karoumpis, who has decided to pursue a new professional challenge outside EFG.

lena lascariLascari (pictured left) for a little over a year has served as business head of the Luxembourg unit, overseeing the private banking, asset management, international client services and investment solutions business in the region.

She was responsible for the development of the bank’s business with ultra high-net-worth clients, with a particular focus on the Greek market.

Growth Boost Required

The Latsis family is the key shareholder of the bank and has its roots in Greece. Spiro Latsis and his son John Latsis are members of the board.

The business of EFG has been sluggish recently as was reported by finews.com. Lascari will be called upon to do help boost growth in continental Europe.
