A veteran Credit Suisse banker has bagged the role of investment chief at the Swiss bank's wealth arm, finews.com has learned.

The Zurich-based bank is naming Nannette Hechler Fayd'herbe as investment chief for its private banking arm, or international wealth management, according to a memo seen by finews.com. She will replace Michael O'Sullivan, who has been in the job for less than two years, effective immediately.

Hechler is well-known in finance circles as a long-time analyst for the bank. She began at Credit Suisse in 1999 as head of bond research, was promoted to investment strategy at its private bank in 2013 where she helped created a so-called house view under overall investment chief Michael Strobaek.

Dual Role

She will keep her current role as global head of economics and research in addition to her new investment role at the wealth arm. She will be supported by Daniel Rupli, who is head of single security research, and James Sweeney, who is head of global economics and investment chief for the Americas.

The investment strategy group, which Hechler previously ran, will temporarily report to Burkhard Varnholt, the investment chief of Credit Suisse's Swiss banking unit. The changes follow a recent shuffle at Credit Suisse's impact investing arm, run by Marisa Drew.
