Thomas Schmidlin, a veteran expert on structured products, has joined a Monaco-based boutique that recently opened an office in Zurich.

Monaco-based Privatam appointed ex-Credit Suisse banker Thomas Schmidlin as head of sales, according to information obtained by finews.com. A spokesman for the company confirmed the move of Schmidlin, who will start in his new role in October 2019.

Privatam provides digital solutions for structured products. The company, which has its headquarters in Monaco, a year ago opened an office in Zurich.

Looking for a New Challenge

For the past seven years, Schmidlin was head of structured products for external clients at Credit Suisse in Zurich. From 2014 through June 2019, he was also a member of the board of the Swiss Structured Products Association and acted as its deputy chairman from 2017.

«After many years spent in investment banking, I was looking for a new challenge, looking to join a team of intelligent and ambitious people who are taking a keen interest in the digital transformation of the finance industry,» Schmidlin said.

Key Role

The appointment of Schmidlin played a key role in the further expansion of the finance boutique and highlights once more the opening of the Zurich branch. The office in Switzerland is led by Thibault Pons and André Schlegel.
