Pictet is hiring a veteran private banker and top executive from BNP Paribas' wealth arm, finews.com has learned. She is the latest coup in the Genevan wealth manager's hiring spree.

The Swiss private bank is hiring Stéphanie Lair Crommen as its head of wealth solutions, effective January 1, according to a memo seen by finews.com. The French banker was most recently head of human resources as for the Paris-based bank's wealth management arm.

She will be responsible for Pictet's wealth product and services teams which aren't directly related to investments: wealth planning, family governance, philanthropy, private funds, credit, and its advisory initiative. She will report to Boris Collardi, who has spurred Pictet into hiring dozens of bankers in the most significant expansion push in the recent history of the 214-year-old firm.

Asia Veteran

Lair is a veteran of Asia, where she ran investment services at BNP's wealth arm in Singapore and then responsible for the Singapore, Indonesian, and Malaysian markets. She moves back to Paris in the human resources job three years ago.

Her vast experience in the fast-growing region will serve her well at Pictet, which has been underrepresented in Asia: «We believe Stéphanie’s experience in leadership roles coupled with her multiple skills and knowledge of Asian clients’ needs will bring value to the new wealth solutions unit,» Pictet wealth co-heads Rémy Best and Collardi said in the memo.
