An ex-UBS private banker is taking over the reins of a network for top executives. The move comes as the Swiss-based club formalizes its structure and incorporates itself.

The executive club Urban Gurus is naming Oliver Banz as its chairman, the club said in a statement on Monday. His election comes as Urban Gurus, which devotes itself to "selected number of C-Level executives, entrepreneurs, politicians, artists and sportspeople who crave and follow a credible vision, purpose, and legacy," incorporates in Switzerland.

Banz is well-known in Swiss wealth management: the former UBS managing director was most recently the staff chief for the Swiss bank's head of ultra-wealthy clients, Joe Stadler. Most recently, Banz was co-CEO of Advanon, a feted financial start-up.

Founded by headhunter Christian Haas and business coach Christina Kuenzle, Urban Gurus devotes itself to issues of «conscious leadership». The network's goal is to look past pure profit maximization and consider the bigger picture. Its incorporation is a result of strong growth in recent years, Urban Gurus said.
