Lombard Odier first Swiss market head is poaching from his former shop, Credit Suisse.

The Geneva-based wealth manager is hiring lawyer and tax expert Andreas Wickli in Zurich, according to a memo seen by finews.com. Wickli, who begins at Lombard Odier in April, is currently head of a Credit Suisse banker team which advises top executives and entrepreneurs.

He will report to Andreas Arni, Lombard Odier's new Swiss market head who is also a former Credit Suisse banker. Arni previously built up the Swiss giant's entrepreneurs and executives segment domestically.

Family's Case

Lombard Odier is also positioning itself as the bank for successful business people and top executives. One of its main arguments to do so is that Lombard Odier's partner-led management understands the needs and worries of entrepreneurs better than bankers at publicly-listed companies can.

Wickli's job will be to work with private bankers in order to develop tax-optimized portfolio management offerings. Banks such as Reyl have already added investment banking services to their portfolio and will manage not only the private assets of rich entrepreneurs but also their firms.
