The private bank is adding to a new corporate finance effort with the hire of an investment banker in Geneva.

Mirabaud Advisors, the corporate finance subsidiary of the Swiss private bank, is hiring Benôit de Courcelles as a managing director in Geneva, it said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. De Courcelles is to help build out the fledgling unit in French-speaking Switzerland.

Launched late last year under Andreas Plattner, the team offers financial advice to entrepreneurs and shareholders of mid- to high-capitalization companies. The idea is to help with their corporate actions like disposals, acquisitions, buyouts, or raising capital by linking them up with partners such as private equity funds, investment firms or industrial and strategic buyers.

The team, which had previously hired in Zurich and Paris, has several deals in its pipeline, senior Mirabaud managing partner Yves Mirabaud told finews.com last month. De Courcelles is a veteran corporate financier who began his career in mergers and acquisitions at Lazard Frères and Goldman Sachs.
