Swiss private bank in Geneva is appointing a 34-year-old as CEO. The move is a bid to keep up with the times.

Banque Eric Sturdza is appointing Michaela Zanello Sturdza as CEO effective immediately, it said in a statement on its website on Tuesday. The 34-year-old replaces her father Eric Sturdza, who will become chairman of the Swiss private bank based in Geneva.

During Zanello Sturdza's career at the bank, she has worked as a project manager and as deputy chief investment officer. In 2018 she joined the executive committee, where she oversaw strategy, commercial development, and human relations.

«The new generation at Sturdza will bring in fresh ideas and a business sense (...), enabling the bank to respond and benefit from new economic and technological paradigms we are facing today,» retiring chairman John Dare said.
