The bank's Swiss arm is replacing its CEO with a veteran of Swiss giant UBS.

Saxo Bank is naming George Falkner its CEO in Switzerland, it said in a statement on Monday. Falkner replaces Renato Santi, who was in the job for the past three years and is leaving to pursue outside opportunities.

He is the Danish lender's third CEO in Switzerland since 2019, when Patrick Hunger handed over to Santi. Falkner was most recently head of wealth advisory and family office at Bellevue Zurich Advisory, an independent wealth manager. He was previously with BNP Paribas' private bank and from 2003 until 2016 with UBS.

Saxo Bank three weeks ago added Claudius Sutter to its board, which is led by Andreas Amschwand. Both are former UBS top executives: Sutter helped develop Smartwealth, a digital wealth manager the Swiss bank launched in the U.K., then abandoned three years ago; Amschwand ran UBS' foreign exchange operations for nearly 25 years.
