The Swiss reinsurer replaced its operating chief, a prominent digitizer who had been in the job for a little more than two years, in a reorganization.

Zurich-based Swiss Re operating chief Anette Bronder will leave the company following a reorganization of her job, it said in a statement on Thursday. The reinsurer named Pravina Ladva as chief digital and technology and part of its top management, from January 1.

Ladva is currently Swiss Re's digital transformation officer. The changes are both sudden and unexpected, and Swiss Re didn't give a reason for them.

Bronder is one of two women in top management under Christian Mumenthaler and was hired from Deutsche Telekom to kickstart Swiss Re's digitization efforts.
