Credit Suisse is poaching a top manager from UBS to head its external asset managers in the region and is shifting expertise to Zurich. 

Credit Suisse is hiring Hugo van Kattendijke as head of external asset managers (EAM) in Asia Pacific, effective June 13, it said in an internal memo seen by finews.asia.

Based in Singapore, Van Kattendijke will report to the global head of EAM Andreas Oggier, as well as APAC head of wealth management Benjamin Cavalli

Van Kattendijke joins Credit Suisse from UBS, where he led its APAC EAM teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Off to Zurich

Former EAM head Sascha Zehnter, has been appointed head of EAM in Europe, effective July 1. He will relocate to Zurich for the new role.

«I would like to thank [Zehnter] for his dedication and substantial contribution to the development and growth of the EAM APAC business over the last seven years,» Oggier said in the memo.
