Julius Baer CEO gets lucrative pay deal for 2021 following the Zurich-based private banks bumper year.

Philipp Rickenbacher, in his second full year as CEO of Julius Baer, received a 4.5 million Swiss francs ($4.9 million) bonus on top if his base salary for 2021, bringing his total compensation to 6.53 million francs for 2021, up from 5.89 million the year before, the bank said in its annual report released Monday.

He joins his predecessors Bernhard Hodler and Boris Collardi, who also saw their renumeration top 6 million. Rickenbacher took over from Holder in September 2019.

Executive Board

The executive board collectively got a raise as well, with the nine members sharing 35.5 million francs in 2021, up  from 32.1 million the year before. Base salaries remained the same, with all of the increase coming from the variable component.

Chairman Romeo Lacher got a slight increase to 1.12 million francs, the bank said.
