The CEO of Bank Cler is stepping down in a surprise move, with no successor waiting in the wings.
CEO Mariateresa Vacalli is leaving Bank Cler to take on a new challenge, according to a statement (in German) issued by the bank Thursday morning. She took over management of the bank on September 1, 2019.
Vacalli has been nominated by the Swiss Post to the board of directors, and will leave Bank Cler, as well as the Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) Group, by May 3 at the latest, the bank said. No successor has been named.
As CEO of Bank Cler, Mariateresa Vacalli was also an associate member of the group executive board of BKB.
