L1 Digital brings in an asset manager from Goldman Sachs Geneva office to serve clients interested in digital assets.

Zurich-based L1 Digital is appointing Sébastien Genoud to its business development team, the firm said in an emailed statement Tuesday.

Genoud joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he headed the office in Geneva, serving pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and banks.

Finma license

«The addition of Sébastien Genoud is part of our long-term growth strategy. His impact will be essential in the development of the Swiss institutional investors’ increasing interest in the digital asset space» Ray Hindi, co-founder and CEO of L1 Digital, said in the statement.

The investment firm, focused on blockchain and digital assets, received its license as a manager of collective assets from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) last January.

Founded in 2018, the company says it advises a Liechtenstein AIF fund and two Luxembourg venture capital funds with total assets of more than $500 million. This comes from institutional clients such as Swiss pension funds, family offices, independent asset managers and banks.
