A consultant, who has spent almost two decades at the firm, is stepping into the managing partner role at McKinsey Switzerland.

McKinsey Switzerland is appointing Michael Steinmann as managing partner of McKinsey in Switzerland effective immediately, it said in an emailed statement Friday.

Steinmann replaces Felix Wenger, who held the position for the maximum tenure of six years and will continue as a senior partner in the Swiss office. Steinmann, who has worked for McKinsey in New York and Switzerland, has had a particular focus on the life sciences industry.

«McKinsey Switzerland has a strong, broad-based and diverse team. We are ready to actively support companies and organizations in their further development and sustainably strengthen Switzerland as a business location,» Steinmann said in the statement.
