The Geneva-based private bank is opening an office in the Valisian ski resort Verbier as it aims to catch existing clients on holiday and win new ones.

Lombard Odier is opening an office in Verbier by year-end, it said in an emailed statement Thursday.

At 1,500 meters altitude, the uptown Swiss holiday resort is home to international holidaymakers who appreciate its panoramic setting which includes the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc massif.

Mobile Lifestyle

«For many of our existing or prospective clients, mobility is now a standard of living. A favored destination in Switzerland, Verbier has become as much a place of residence as a leisure destination, hosting major sporting events and cultural activities,» Partner Gérard Felley said in the statement.

Stéphane Pedraja, who is in charge of private clients in French-speaking Switzerland will lead the office. Other private banks, including Credit Suisse, UBS and Julius Baer, also have branches in Verbier.
